SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell was left confused by Michael Turner's late red card against Blackpool.
Turner was dismissed after being adjudged to have stamped on visiting striker Armand Gnanduillet four minutes from time.
But Powell did not see the incident which led to the centre-back's dismissal.
"I didn’t see it and I’m not sure if the referee did either," said Powell.
"If he’s done it then it’s silly because he’s an experienced player.
"If he didn’t mean it then you can’t put yourself in that situation but I was quite confused by it all.
"The assistant must have seen it but it’s something which shouldn’t happen, especially in our position.
"We will lose him for three games now I think."
