ROB Small has bolstered his squad as Brad Warner has rejoined Bowers & Pitsea.

The striker has moved back to the Len Salmon Stadium after leaving the club to link-up with AFC Hornchurch in the summer of 2017.

And Small is pleased to see Warner return to the Isthmian North table-toppers.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have Brad back at the club,” said the Bowers boss.

“You could probably view it as a coup for the club because he won the Isthmian North title last season and has done well with Hornchurch.

“It’s going to take him a bit of time to get going and adjust to the league again.

“The club has changed a lot since Brad was here, so we need to give him time to get to his best.

“It will give me a selection headache going forward, but those are the type of headaches you want as a manager.

“But we must remember that the players already here have been doing well without Brad.”

However, Bowers’ progress in the Essex Senior Cup was ended after falling at the fourth round stage to Romford.

The clash, which took place at the Len Salmon Stadium, ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.

James Thomas scored his first goal of the season to give Bowers a fourth minute lead, but Khadean Campbell levelled matters for the visitors 10 minutes later.

And the visitors advanced thanks to a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win.

“I’m lost for words because we should have done enough to win the game in 90 minutes,” added Small.

“But it was good to see James score his first goal as he has been playing in a more advanced role.”
