CRAIG Strachan is delighted to be back in action for a rampant Rochford Hundred.

The influential prop forward had been sidelined for close to two months before returning for Saturday’s 101-5 win at Luton.

And Strachan is now seeking another thumping win at home to Eton Manor this weekend.

“Saturday will be a good test as they have started well this year,” said Strachan.

“But, realistically, we do need to be targeting another bonus point win.”

Rochford are currently top of the London One North table after winning all 10 of their matches so far this season.

And Strachan thoroughly enjoyed the thumping victory last time out.

“The win was very pleasing,” said Strachan.

“Whatever anybody says the best part about sport is winning and it helps to motivate you for the cold training sessions.”

However, Rochford - who went the whole of last season unbeaten when winning London Two North East - remain hungry for more.

And Strachan is particularly keen to play after recovering from an ankle injury.

“For me, the season has been a bit up and down so far,” said Strachan.

“I started well but then I missed seven weeks due to an ankle injury, so it was nice to get back out there on Saturday.

“But, for the team, the season so far is going to plan. We’ve got maximum points so we can’t do any better. This middle period of the league has become a little fractured due to injuries, so we may not always play as well as we hope. But we keep winning and want to keep that going.”
