SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell fears defender Harry Kyprianou will not play again this season.
Kyprianou picked up an Achilles problem towards the end of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.
And Powell is nervously waiting the results of the defender’s scan.
“It doesn’t look great,” said the Blues boss.
“He’s having a scan and if that shows up what the medical staff think it is then it will be looked at right away.
“Whether that’s an operation or not, it doesn’t look great.
“I’ve looked at it again and there’s no-one near him just like many of the other injuries we’ve picked up.
“I know it’s a free-kick but you can tell from (Scott) Wagstaff’s reaction that he didn’t touch him and doesn’t when you look at it again.”
Kyprianou had started the last two games for the Shrimpers but when asked if the defender would play again this season Powell grimaced and said: “It doesn’t look great but we need to get the results of the scan first.”
