UNBEATEN London One North leaders Rochford Hundred made it 11 wins in a row with a 51-7 triumph against Eton Manor.

The victory kept Rochford eight points clear at the top of the table.

And Chris Shields - who was among Hundred’s try scorers - was happy to keep the winning run going.

“Saturday’s game against Eton Manor was another good win for us,” said Shields.

“We had a bit of a slow start and that made it a tight game to begin with.

“But we had a chat at half-time and took control in the second half.

“I thought we overpowered the opposition and ran away with the win in the end.”

Rochford went through the whole of last season unbeaten when winning London Two North East.

And Shields - who lined up at number eight at the weekend - is pleased to be keeping the momentum going.

“The season so far is going really well,” said Shields.

“We’re progressing after every game and showing really good signs.

“We all know what we can achieve if we keep this up too.”

Rochford opened the scoring inside the first minute with Sam Fombo touching down.

Jamie Douglas then bagged Hundred’s next try in the 22nd minute with fly-half Steve Jay adding the conversion.

Manor hit back with a converted try of their own before Rochford winger Norbertas Radzevicius bagged another try to make it 17-7 at half-time.

After the break, Shields was the first to score and, on the 64th minute, Joseph Hurley also touched down to put Rochford 27-7 ahead.

Replacement William Ferrier soon extended Rochford’s lead with another try which Jay converted before Ben Johnson touched down just two minutes later.

However, Rochford were still not finished and scored twice in the final three minutes with Sam Nash and Fombo both scoring tries.

Rochford will now be looking for another win when they host sixth-placed Old Priorians this weekend.
