SOUTHEND United defender Harry Kyprianou has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an Achilles injury.
Kyprianou picked up the problem towards the end of Saturday's 2-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.
And Blues boss Chris Powell has confirmed the centre-back will now be out of action until next summer.
"Harry has had an operation and we will see him in July," said Powell.
"It’s another season ending injury and it’s a huge disappointment for everyone concerned.
"He's ruptured his Achilles and it’s a real tough one to take.
"It’s sad and desperate for him and for us."
Kyprianou had started three of the last four games before suffering the injury and tweeted: "Extremely frustrated to now be out for the rest of the season following the Achilles injury I picked up at the game on Saturday.
"The op today was successful and I look forward to being back out there in due course. Appreciate all your love and support.I'll be back stronger."
