SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Tuesday night's 2-0 win against Scunthorpe United at Roots Hall

Far from a classic but an important three points. Everybody gave it 100 per cent and we took our chances well. Macca unlucky not to get a goal or two.

@strutty27

Think everyone deserves a bit of credit. We've played better but considering the form of late and all the injury issues, the team selection and subs were spot on, everyone gave 100 per cent and we got the monkey off the back. Much needed win.

@Jaimundo_ESX

It was an improvement and shows with right tactics we can hopefully stay out of danger. Dieng off Cox easily our most effective way of playing with available squad. But Scunny were poor, most teams will be much better than them.

@moorhouse79

Did what we needed to do with a threadbare squad. Loved Mantom celebrating against his old team in style. Let’s hope we can build on it now.

@ObiWesKenobi

Played well first half thought McLaughlin and Bunn were great. As were mantom and Cox.

@james_d_c

Much better performance. White was my MOM closely followed by Elvis. Thought Scunthorpe were poor. Goals are going to be a problem with McCoulsky offering nothing and Robinson wasteful in front of goal in recent weeks

@mrtall69

Made hard work of it but who cares? We got there. Most important win of the season so far. Need to build on it though.

@easymorninrebel

Fairly poor and still struggled to control the game in the opposing half even against 10 men, with injuries I know it's tough but we need to show a little bit more fight

@BookerDeWitty

We played a scrappy game of football and should of had a few more goals. Thought the defence played very well and Elvis should of got MOTM

@BenFluffs81

An improvement! We passed the ball so much better tonight then the previous two games. You have to give the boys credit tonight though, and great to have that winning feeling back!

@HayleyGardener

This is a poor league this season for some reason the standard of football has dropped to almost League Two level. The positives for Southend are we are not the worst side in the League and considering our injury list we are just doing enough.

@phillsilver9

We won on my birthday, I’m happy with that.

@Gemmablandy94

Very important three points. Selection was far better this evening and Macca (who I admittedly gave a bit of stick to on Saturday because he was nearest to me) was excellent. We can quibble about them having 10 men etc, but after the run we’ve had, the result is all that matters.

@FlashDarbs

Lots of huff and puff and still too much ball in the air against 10 men BUT it is the result that counts and at least we didn’t concede in the last 10 minutes (although how they missed the open goal I don’t know!)
