WESTCLIFF will be looking to bounce back from a rare surprising setback when they host CS Stags 1863 tomorrow.
Westcliff – who sit second in the London & SE Premier Divisions standings – were beaten 18-17 by struggling Bedford Athletic last time out.
But Westcliff scrum half Henry Morrant feels that will have the team fired up this weekend.
“I definitely think it will fire the boys up for this weekend,” said Morrant.
“We’ve set a high standard with our defence this season and we haven’t quite matched that over the past few weeks so hopefully we can pull that back.
“Last week was massively frustrating for us.
“We got off to a really quick start but couldn’t quite finish some of our opportunities and then got caught up in a game with a very spirited Bedford side.
“But we’ll be looking to bounce back on Saturday.”
Stags are currently 10th in the standings but Morrant still feels they will be tough to beat at the Gables.
“We’re expecting a CS side with a big pack, who know they can beat teams at the top of the table after a win over Wimbledon earlier in the year,” said Morrant.
“But I’m sure we can put on a decent performance at home and get the win.”
