Triumphant - Southend United beat Luton Town on penalties on Wednesday night
SOUTHEND United will host Portsmouth in the third round of the Checkatrade Trophy.
Blues take on Portsmouth in League One at Fratton Park this afternoon.
And they will soon welcome Kenny Jacketts' side to Roots Hall.
The tie will take place at the start of January.
The Shrimpers made it through to the third round after beating Luton Town on penalties on Wednesday night.
