ISAAC Hutchinson is hungry for more first team football at Southend United.

The 18-year-old made his League debut for the Shrimpers in the 2-0 win against Gillingham last week.

And Hutchinson is now keen to sample more of the same.

“I really enjoyed the experience and now I’ve got a taste of it I obviously want more so I’ll be working as hard as possible to try and make that happen,” said the youngster.

“I was pleased with how the game went and how I played but I think I can only get better from here.

“I was surprised and excited to play but the players all really helped me and the most important thing was making sure we got the three points.

“Hopefully I’ll get another chance soon.”

Hutchinson's next opportunity could come against Portsmouth in the Checktrade Trophy tomorrow night.

And it is a competition the youngster is already fond of having scored just seconds into his debut against Cambridge United earlier on this season.

"I obviously have fond memories of that night and of this competition too," said Hutchinson.

"It would be great to get a win against Portsmouth and get even closer to a Wembley final which is obviously what we all want."
