WESTCLIFF'S Greg Bannister is expecting another close tussle with Tunbridge Wells tomorrow.

Westcliff best Wells 19-13 earlier on in the season.

And Bannister believes Saturday's London & SE Premier Division clash will be equally as close.

"It’s going to be tough," said Bannister.

"We had a good game earlier on in the year with them which was close so we aren’t expecting anything different.

"They have some good carriers and some quick backs but we can just focus on ourselves to make sure we play as good as possible."

Westcliff - who are third in the standings - resumed their season with a 23-16 win at Hertford last weekend.

And Bannister was delighted with the victory.

"It was very pleasing, considering every time we had played there before we had got beaten easily," said Bannister.

"but I think the lads were more proud of the way we managed to grind out the result and keep playing positively even though we were on the back foot."

And Bannister was also pleased to be among the try scorers as he continues to enjoy his first season back with Westcliff.

"It’s good fun, especially as we have managed to win a few games and sit in the top half of table," said Bannister.

"That has made things more enjoyable."
