SOUTHEND Saxons will be bidding to get back on track when they head to Amersham & Chiltern tomorrow.

Saxons were beaten 33-30 by Old Haberdashers last time out.

But Southend's Nike Grier is expecting another tricky test.

"Amersham are like us they had a tough start to the season but have found their feet in this league and put a good few wins together," said Grier.

"Saturday will be very physical but it's one we are looking forward to as a squad."

Southend head into the game sitting ninth in the London One North standings, one place and four points below their hosts.

But Grier is keen to get back to winning ways after last weekend's frustrating defeat.

"It was really frustrating because we were the better side," said Grier.

"We played the better rugby and some of the decisions the ref gave against where laughable, especially the last play of the game.

"But even though we only lost by three we can’t concede that many points and expect to win the game.

"We need to be better in defence which is something we’ve looked at and worked hard on in training this week."
