SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell feels the Shrimpers are short of confidence at home.
Blues were beaten 3-2 by struggling Plymouth Argyle at Roots Hall this afternoon.
And Powell remains concerned by his side’s form at their own ground.
“We’re low on confidence at home and that’s worrying because the boys look edgy,” said the Shrimpers boss.
“We’re in a difficult place with trying to put out a team and trying to get some consistency and rhythm.
“We settle down, we might win a game and then we lose someone else. It’s frustrating.
“I’m not speaking out of turn but we’re without my first choice back five.
“You’re putting in players but it will be tough for them because there are so many scenarios they haven’t been through.
“We’re asking a lot of Bish (Nathan Bishop), Elvis (Bwomono) and Stephen Hendrie.”
