GARRY Kimble feels Great Wakering Rovers need to ‘get back to basics’ after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Brentwood Town.

Shomari Barnwell and Jake Gordon were on target for Wakering, but a brace of goals from Ernest Okoh and Alfie Hilton effort ensured the visitors were defeated.

Wakering also finished the Isthmian North encounter with 10 men as George Cox saw red and Kimble was left disappointed.

“The performance wasn’t great and our errors are leading to us giving away too many goals,” said the Wakering boss.

“They scored two goals at the start of the second half and they came from sloppy play.

“We need to get back to basics, roll our sleeves up and go again.

“Hopefully we will be firing on all cylinders against Romford next week because those below us are starting to pick up points.”

Barnwell gave Wakering a seventh minute lead, but Brentwood hit back within six minutes as Okoh levelled.

The hosts moved into a two-goal lead thanks to Hilton finding the back of the net before Okoh completed his brace inside the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Gordon halved the deficit from the penalty spot on the hour mark, but Cox’s dismissal ended Wakering’s hopes of staging a comeback.
