Good first year - for Southend United manager Chris Powell
SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell celebrated his first year in charge of the Shrimpers this week.
And only Powell's former boss David Webb enjoyed a higher winning percentage during his first 12 months at Roots Hall.
Powell has won 21 of his 47 matches in charge and is pleased to be towards the top of the list.
"If that’s the stat that’s the stat and you’ll take that," said Powell.
"You’d rather be there than not in the equation.
"It’s pleasing but I’ll always wish it was higher.
I’ve looked back and I think it’s 70 points we’ve got since I’ve come in.
"I’ll take that but it could have been more although I'm sure David Webb will be happy I haven’t beaten him!"
