SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell is unsure when three of his injured players will be fit enough to return to action.

Goalkeeper Mark Oxley (back), defender Jason Demetriou (knee) and midfielder Luke Hyam (hamstring) are all still sidelined for the Shrimpers.

And Powell is uncertain when the trio will be back.

"There are no definitive dates for any of them, "said Powell.

"Sadly there’s been no progression for Mark Oxley.

“Jason Demetriou has been running and he’s had another scan which is OK but it’s very slow for him too.

“Luke Hyam is doing some work and hopefully we’ll see him in some capacity next week."

However, defensive duo Harry Lennon and Rob Kiernan are now both back in training while winger Harry Bunn is also close to a return.

“Harry Bunn is really close but maybe not close enough for Saturday,” said Powell.

“Harry Lennon has been training but maybe won’t be ready for Saturday and Rob Kiernan is training again after being out for 18 months which is positive.

“It’s good to have them back with us.”
