BOWERS & Pitsea boss Rob Small has warned his side to ignore the league table ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Witham Town.

Bowers, who are currently top of the Bostik North standings, host 17th placed Witham at the Len Salmon Stadium.

But Small will be telling his players to take nothing for granted.

“The key with Witham Town is to disregard the league table and consider form instead,” said Small.

“They are one of the form teams in the division and have got positive results in recent times with all of the teams challenging at the top of the division so they need to be respected.”

And Small also feels Witham will know all about Bowers’ style of play.

“Mark Ashford, the Witham manager, worked with us last season so he will know how we operate, how we play and our players’ individual strengths,” said Small.

“Mark will no doubt have a plan for Saturday’s game to surprise us.”

However, Bowers will be heading into the clash full of confidence after beating Grays Athletic 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Bowers will still be without defender Richard Halle but the rest of the squad remain available.

Also in Bostik North, Canvey Island will be bidding to get back to winning ways at Tilbury tomorrow.

Canvey started 2019 in fine form, with their manager Mark Bentley being named manager of the month for January.

But the seventh placed Gulls have now suffered back to back defeats and will be keen to see off Tilbury, who sit in ninth, this weekend.
