SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell felt Dru Yearwood slipped before making the challenge which saw him red carded at Charlton Athletic this afternoon.
The midfielder was shown a straight red card by referee Simon Hooper following a late challenge on the Addicks' Jonny Williams.
And Powell conceded the tackle did look bad on the television replays.
"Dru does slip but it looks bad.
"I’ve seen it again and it looks bad.
"My only argument was that we had two on our players, Michael Kightly and Timothee Dieng.
"I was told they weren't red cards because they were low but I’m sure you can break your leg low as well as high so that’s my only comeback.
