SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers.

Outplayed, out-thought and out-fought. The central midfield appears uninterested, the wide midfielders lazy and the full-backs both below League One standard. Tactically, playing Cox wide left made no sense either. It feels the same as at the end of the Wignall era at the moment.

@garrygen

I’m afraid it wasn’t even a contest.

@mwelly7

Simply hopeless which is a complete contrast to Saturday. The defence was a shambles and the midfield didn’t exist. Seriously worried for the rest of the season with such a lack of players and constantly dodgy selections from Powell. Cox playing left wing? Come on now.

@ljarvis27

League Two beckons if we keep playing like that.

@austinwilks

Another game devoid of ideas, strange formations and inept performances. These players aren’t mentally strong enough for the relegation fight that is coming.

@danbasildonblue

CP has to go. Every game it’s a shambles. Tactically inept and has no idea how to play the team and what system to use. I fear relegation is a real possibility this season and can’t see anything from the Portsmouth game expect another heavy defeat.

@mark30995080

Thought we did OK, apart from letting in three goals and a lack of defensive awareness, midfield which at times (approx 90 minutes of game) disappeared and striker had a non productive day and another injury. Plenty of positives to take, mainly we only suffered one injury.

@iwilksie

Too easy to score against we were all over the place defensively. Very inconsistent at the moment and being only six points away from the relegation zone is worrying.

@ryan_fleming99

Complete contrast to a decent performance at Charlton, Midfield cannot provide for the attackers. It’s all pass, pass give away and nobody prepared to shoot.

@duncansheekey

Can’t see us staying up to be honest. I think the wheels have come off. But also don’t think it’s entirely Powell’s fault. So many injuries. If we go down I’ll blame the injuries and the poor, poor, poor January deadline day.

@tweetgraystone

It’s CP’s post match comments that alarm me. Quietly happy it was only three? Not motivational and lack of respect for the fans who travelled.

@bazziboo

Totally agree with all comments, no pace in team. Yes loads of injuries but Bishop, Cox, Moore and Humphrys only fit to wear the shirt. Manager has totally lost his way. We need 52 points to stay up. I sadly don’t see it.

@bakewellalan

Powell’s comments after the game were unforgivable. Won’t do the players any good morale wise.
