RUGBY: Nik Grier knows only too well Southend Saxons must ignore the league table when they host struggling Diss in London One North tomorrow.
Southend were beaten 35-32 at third from bottom Fullerians last time out.
And Grier is therefore taking nothing for granted against rock bottom Diss at Warners Bridge this weekend.
“You can never take any game for granted in this league and just because a team is below you you can’t just expect to win as you could see from our result last weekend ,” said Grier.
“Anyone on their day can beat anyone and that’s why this league is so unpredictable from second down.”
But Grier is determined to help Southend produce an improved display.
“But we definitely owe our supporters a performance this weekend,” said Grier.
“The game last weekend was probably our worst performance of the season there was an arrogance about us.”
