ROCHFORD Hundred moved a huge step nearer the London One North title with a 36-12 win over their nearest challengers Colchester on Saturday.

The victory saw the unbeaten league leaders go 14 points clear at the top of the table.

And Chris Dudman felt the win again showed just how strong Rochford are at this level.

“Saturday’s game was an all round performance by the whole squad,” said Dudman.

“It showed that we are ready for the next step up in the leagues by beating the team in second so comfortably

“Although it was a top of the table clash, we still viewed it as a potential bonus point win and it was good we were able to get one."

Rochford have now won all 20 of their games this season and seem set to secure a second successive promotion.

Hundred won London Two North East without losing a single a fixture last term.

And Dudman is now determined for Rochford to do the same this time around.

“I think for the rest of the season the team will look to finish unbeaten and with maximum bonus points too,” said Dudman.

“It’s a realistic goal with only six games to go.”

Rochford were on top right from the start at the weekend with Colchester being shown a yellow card after just two minutes.

The hosts immediately took advantage with a try from Adam Ferrier which Dudman converted before Ferrier bagged his second effort of the afternoon.

Moments later Matt Stewart also touched down for Rochford before Hundred were reduced to 14 men just before the break when scrum half Ricki Gould was yellow carded.

Four minutes into the second half Colchester were also shown a yellow card and Rochford piled on the pressure with Sam Fombo, Sonny Gay and Chris Shields all touching down.

Rochford are without a fixture this weekend but will return to action the following weekend with a trip to third placed North Walsham.
