CONCORD Rangers head to Hemel Hempstead Town looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time since the turn of the year.

The Beach Boys, who are four points outside the National League South play-off positions in eighth spot, visit 13th-placed Hemel tomorrow.

And, having notched a 2-1 victory over Bath City courtesy of an early Alex Wall brace last time out, Darren Beale is eager to see Concord boost their hopes of breaking into the top seven by claiming three points.

“It was our first win of 2019 and it was a long time coming,” said the Beach Boys’ first team coach.

“We set ourselves targets over the course of the season and one of those was to match the club’s points total for last season.

“The win last weekend means we have the same number of points now and although we were hoping to reach this stage last month, the points deduction didn’t help and we are just pleased to have now reached another target.

“We are in a good position at the moment and there is often a team that breaks into the play-offs late on.

“That team often gets promoted because they have got the momentum and we’re hoping that we will be that team to make a late dash for the play-off places.

“Hemel are one of those teams that you probably would have expected to be nearer the top seven, but we know it will be a tough game.”
