BOWERS & Pitsea overcame a one-goal deficit and numerical disadvantage to seal a 2-1 win over Mildenhall Town.
Rob Small’s Bowers made the trip to Mildenhall looking to increase their winning run to nine Isthmian North outings.
And the visitors were able to triumph thanks to goals from substitutes Jamie Dicks and James Thomas after Abouhadje Kouassi had given the hosts a first half lead.
Bowers fell behind soon before the half hour mark as Kouassi broke the deadlock.
And matters got worse for the division’s table-toppers as Callum Leahy was given his marching orders 15 minutes after the interval.
Despite having to play the final half hour with 10 men, Bowers pushed for goals and they were back on level terms as Dicks found the back of the net 10 minutes later.
Bowers were then in the ascendancy as they looked to maintain their 11 point lead at the Isthmian North summit.
And the winner came two minutes from time as Thomas found a way past Mildenhall goalkeeper Jake Hayhoe.
