SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell felt Harry Lennon showed exactly what the Shrimpers had been missing on his return to action at Blackpool.

Lennon came back into the starting line up at Bloomfield Road for the first time since breaking his leg against Walsall in October.

And Powell was full of praise for the defender's display.

"Harry Lennon made great decisions on and of the ball at the weekend," said Powell.

"He showed his aerial ability and he gives us balance with his left foot.

"He also gives us pace and I would argue he’s the fastest player at the club so he's definitely been missed."
