CHRIS Powell wants Southend United to finally end their Glanford Park hoodoo tonight.
The Shrimpers have failed to win any of their 14 visits to what has been Scunthorpe United’s ground since 1988.
But Powell is keen for that wretched record to end this evening as Blues bid to bolster their survival hopes.
“There’s a time for these records to be broken and I hope I’m the one to do it because we need it,” said Powell.
“We need to go there in good heart and we will.
“We were disappointed with the way the game ended at Blackpool, conceding an injury time equaliser and then the pitch invasion, but by the time we got on the bus we were looking up again.
"We’ll embrace the game and we’ll do all we can to get three points.”
