HULLBRIDGE Sports and Southend Manor are set to lock horns in a local derby tomorrow.

The clash has been switched from Hullbridge's Ryan's Heating Stadium to Chadfields, the home of Isthmian North side Tilbury.

Sports are seeking three valuable points to keep themselves on course for the Essex Senior League title, while Manor are still fighting to keep out of the drop zone.

However, Hullbridge assistant manager James Wakeling insists form is irrelevant when it comes to derbies.

“Anything can happen in derbies,” said Wakeling.

“League positions and form go out of the window and we have got to battle for 90 minutes because that is what they are going to do.

“We want to keep the pressure on Stansted and so it’s important that we get the three points.”

Although Manor boss Adam Peek is looking forward to the derby, he is not changing his side’s preparations.

Peek said: “It’s just another game and we still need a few more points to ensure our safety.

“It’s a derby and they are fighting to go up but we want to win the three points.

“We are preparing for the game in the same way as any other game.”
