SOUTHEND United boss Chris Powell is hoping Harry Lennon will not be facing another extended spell on the sidelines.
Lennon, who has broken a toe and his leg already this season, limped off in the second half of Saturday's 1-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon.
But Powell is hopeful the defender will soon be back in action.
"Harry had an injury at half-time, he overstretched but he wanted to stay on," said Powell.
"I thought he showed at times what a good player he is again on Saturday but I was going to make a different change before he got injured.
"Hopefully him coming off was just a precaution."
Lennon joined Blues from Charlton Athletic in the summer but has made just five League starts so far this season.
