SOUTHEND United winger Stephen McLaughlin will be missing 'for a number of weeks' after suffering a calf problem in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon.
The Irishman has started five of the last seven games for the Shrimpers.
But Blues boss Chris Powell will not be able to call upon the 28-year-old at Peterborough United this weekend.
"We’ve lost Stephen McLaughlin for a number of weeks," confirmed Powell.
"When he came off we knew he had a knock but we didn’t think it would be as bad as it is and it's a real shame.
"He’s got a knock on his calf and they can be quite tricky.
"You can think you’re alright until you try and push off.
"I hope he will be back before the end of the season but I think he will miss the next two or three weeks.
