BASILDON United boss John Sussex knows his side will need to be at their very best if they are to pick up a positive result this weekend.
The 14th-placed Bees make the trip to Coggeshall Town for an Isthmian North fixture tomorrow.
Coggeshall, who like Basildon were promoted last season, are third in the standings after registering seven consecutive victories before their midweek defeat to Brentwood Town.
And Sussex has devised a gameplan in an attempt to frustrate Coggeshall’s potent attackers.
“They are looking to win promotion via the play-offs and they have just signed some new players,” said Sussex.
“I got a report on their game against Brentwood and, although they lost, I’ve heard that they could have been six goals ahead inside the first half hour.
“The lads have been training well and we are working on a gameplan which will give us the best possible chance of getting something out of the game.
“Not many people will be expecting us to get a positive result, but we never go into a game to lose.
“If Brentwood can beat them then I see no reason why we can’t.
“Coggeshall are very good going forward, with their wide players, strikers and Conor Hubble in midfield.
“Hubble is probably the best player in the division and we are very respectful of them but we will be looking to frustrate them and get something out of the game.”
Basildon head to north Essex having enjoyed their first win during Sussex’s reign.
The Bees recorded a 3-1 win over Romford last time out and Sussex says spirits are high in the camp.
“It was a massively important result and we are in a better position now,” added Sussex.
