JAKE Spivey insists Westcliff will be gunning for revenge when they host Bedford Athletic in the London & SE Premier Division tomorrow.

Third-placed Westcliff suffered a shock 18-17 defeat at Bedford back in November.

And Spivey knows Westcliff will want to get their own back at the Gables tomorrow.

“They beat us at their place last time so we will be looking to beat them as we are always good at the Gables,” said the scrum-half.

“We’re ready for this weekend as we feel in the business end of the season it’s key for us to get big wins.

“But if we have a good side and perform well we will come away with a needed five points.”

Westcliff go into the game sitting third in the table, seven points below the top two.

And Westcliff will be desperate to get back to winning ways after suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time this season.

“The last two games were very frustrating as we know we were capable of winning both matches,” said Spivey.

“We should have really finished the job but, unfortunately, we couldn’t and that’s just how sport goes.

“We’ve had a break since then and a break can never really come at a good time unless your squad has injuries or players missing.

“But we have shown we have good depth in the squad and have players who can step up and keep us fighting for promotion.”

And Spivey is keen to prove that tomorrow.

“I expect we will be keen to get the full five points but not put too much pressure on ourselves,” he added.
