HULLBRIDGE Sports got their Essex Senior League title hopes back on track with a 2-0 win at Woodford Town.

Sports made the trip to the Harlow Arena looking to bounce back from their derby defeat to Southend Manor last time out.

And goals from debutants Yemi Adelani and Tim Monsheju allowed Hullbridge to return to winning ways, much to the delight of assistant manager James Wakeling.

"We lost to Southend Manor and thought this is a very tough game to come into afterwards," said Wakeling.

"But the boys battled and looked like they wanted to win.

"It was very pleasing to come away with a clean sheet and three points. It was nice to start fast for once - we scored after five minutes.

"We had a dodgy period in the first half but then we ended the half well.

"It was tough in the second half, but we were pleased to get the three points."

Hullbridge got off to the perfect start as Adelani netted from close range with just five minutes on the clock.

And Sports ensured victory with two minutes remaining as Monsheju - just 24 hours after joining on dual registration terms from Isthmian Premier League side Wingate & Finchley - came off the bench and rounded the Woodford goalkeeper before finding the empty net.
