STEVE Evans has refused to rule out taking over at Southend United.

Evans, who was dismissed by Peterborough United last month, is among those being mentioned as a possible replacement for Chris Powell at Roots Hall.

And the 56-year-old told Echosport his agent is currently in talks with two interested clubs.

“My agent is talking to a couple of clubs who have expressed an interest in talking with me,” said Evans.

“But I think you will understand that I cannot and would not breach any confidentiality as to which clubs they are.”

Evans has previously been in charge of Mansfield Town, Leeds United, Rotherham United and Crawley Town.
