SOUTHEND Saxons host North Walsham tomorrow wanting to test another of London One North's top teams.
Last time out, eighth-placed Southend were narrowly beaten 28-25 at Colchester, who sit second in the standings.
But skipper Ian Morrison felt the game still gave Southend confidence heading into their clash with third-placed Walsham.
“I thought Saturday was a very well fought local derby,” said Morrison.
“It showed the capability within the group as I think Colchester would admit we mounted the most pressure throughout the game.
"We are continually working to perform at that level consistently week in, week out and confidence is high among the squad.”
And, despite seeming to have little to play for, Morrison is also keen to end the season on a high.
“As a group we set our own goals and despite the league standings we feel the following matches represent a chance to springboard ourselves into next season full of confidence and with some wins under our belt,” said Morrison.
“We want as many points as possible.”
