WESTCLIFF head into the final day of the London & SE Premier Division season as one of three teams who can still clinch the title.

Westcliff sit third in the standings, level on points with second-placed Wimbledon and four behind table-topping Sutton & Epsom.

But Westcliff winger Greg Bannister is keen to not get too carried away ahead of his side’s visit to eighth-placed Dorking.

“Of course there is excitement but for us it’s just another game and we will be going out to win,” said Bannister.

“The only difference is that we could be playing an extra game this year if we get into the play-off or even be league winners.”

Sutton & Epsom end their season with a trip to sixth-placed Bedford Athletic while Wimbledon head to fourth-placed Tring.

But Bannister will remain proud of Westcliff’s season whatever the outcome of tomorrow’s matches.

“You have to be proud of what we have done this year and I believe it makes us one of the most successful Westcliff teams ever,” said Bannister.

“Team spirit within the group has helped and of course training hard too. But we’ll just be focusing on trying to win our game.

"I think the coaches and fans will be keeping tabs on scores but for us as players we just have to get the win and then see what happens afterwards.”
