KEVIN Bond insists Southend United are still up for the fight as they bid to secure their League One status.
The Shrimpers produced a passionless performance in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers and are now facing an uphill struggle for survival.
But Bond is adamant Blues will battle in all of their remaining fixtures.
“Saturday was disappointing but of course these players are still up for the fight,” said Bond.
“I don’t think lifting them is going to be a problem because I know they’ll be motivated.
“They’ve got themselves into this mess but now it’s up to them to get out of it too.”
The Shrimpers head to fellow strugglers Walsall on Friday sitting 22nd in the standings, two points from safety, with just four games left to go.
