ANOTHER wonder goal from Isaac Hutchinson helped Southend United’s under 23 side secure a 2-2 draw at Plymouth Argyle this afternoon.

The 19-year-old scored from inside his own half for the second time this season to help the Shrimpers fight back from two goals down.

And coach Dave Huzzey was full of praise for the youngster.

“It was an excellent goal which came out of nowhere really,” said Huzzey.

“We had missed a few chances before that but then he just popped up with a goal like that and it’s not the first time he’s done it this season either.

“It shows great awareness, technique and above all else bravery because he’s not worried about everyone shouting at him if it goes wrong!

“But he has that in his locker and it really was an unbelievable goal to be fair to him which got us back in the game.”

Plymouth had raced into a two goal lead at Home Park with two goals from striker Klaidi Lolos.

Lolos opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a powerful effort before he doubled Argyle’s lead from the penalty spot in the 36th minute after he had been fouled by Shrimpers skipper Rob Howard.

However, Hutchinson brought Blues back into the game with a moment of magic before the break as he added yet another wonder goal to this season;s catalogue.

The youngster also scored from the half-way line against Waltham Abbey in the Essex Senior Cup back in November and also won the club’s goal of the month competition with a screaming left footed volley against Cheltenham Town in March.

Hutchinson’s latest effort was soon followed by another well-taken strike from Norman Wabo who latched onto a fine pass from Harry Phillips immediately after the break.

And Huzzey felt a change in system helped the Shrimpers to get back into the game.

“We started off with a diamond shape in the midfield but Plymouth were on top and scored two goals,” said Huzzey.

“But we moved to a 4-3-3 and after that we were much better.

“We controlled the game for long periods and we could even have won it in the end. Overall we have to be fairly pleased though because Plymouth were a good side. Their striker caused us problems and their two centre-backs were very solid.”
