SOUTHEND United left-back Ben Coker has revealed he was reduced to tears ahead of what he feared may be his final trip to Roots Hall.
Coker became emotional travelling in for Blues’ clash against Sunderland on the last day of the season.
And the defender, who has been with the Shrimpers since 2013, is still waiting to find out if he will be offered a new deal.
“When I was driving in I broke down in tears because I realised it could be the last time I come to the ground,” Coker told his ‘Coming Back’ show on the BBC.
“It will be like that until we know what is happening too.”
Coker, who has made 208 appearances for Blues, has been out of action since October after suffering a cruciate ligament injury against Sunderland.
