A CHARITY football match is being held at Hullbridge Sports’ Ryan’s Heating Stadium on Sunday.

An Emersons side will be facing an Arsenal outfit featuring a number of celebrities and ex-Gunners players.

And Emersons director Mick Maddocks is hoping to raise a good amount of money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

“Emersons will be taking on the Arsenal Foundation Charity team in a game to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and we’re looking forward to the day,” said Maddocks.

“Alongside the football game there will be inflatable fun for the whole family, refreshments, a raffle and a lot more so it will be fun for all the family.

“And we obviously want to raise as much as we can.”

Among those lining up for the Arsenal team will be Tommy Walsh, who is best known for his DIY show Ground Force.

Joining him in the Gunners side will be actor Ralf Little, who starred in the Royal Family as well as Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

Also in action are Jimmy Carter, who Arsenal signed from Liverpool for £500,000 back in 1991 and former centre-back Chris Whyte who made nearly 400 appearances during his career.

Sunday’s game kicks off at 1pm with tickets available online at www.emersons.uk.com.

Tickets are priced at £3 but will rise to £5 on the day. Those under the age of three will watch the game free of charge. Email ellen.cooper@emersons.uk.com for more details.
