BILLERICAY skipper Lee Knight is expecting a tough test against a Wanstead side he feels will finish towards the top of the Premier Division table this season.

Billericay have made a fine start to the campaign and are currently fourth in the standings after not losing any of their first three games.

But Knight knows his side can take nothing for granted against Wanstead, who currently sit second in the league.

“I’m expecting a very tough game,” said Knight.

“Wanstead are a strong side who I expect will be among the top three come the end of the season so it will be a big test for us.”

However, confidence is high in the Billericay team and Knight was happy to record another win at Ilford last weekend.

“I was very pleased with the win on Saturday, especially after losing the toss,” said Knight.

“Ilford started well but as a unit we didn’t panic and fought back well.

“Darren Ironside bowled beautifully for his five wickets but we had a touch of luck in our innings with a few dropped catches.

“However, we made sure we took advantage of those errors and despite making it hard for ourselves at the end it was a fairly comfortable win.”
