SOUTHEND United have rejected an offer from Rotherham United for midfielder Dru Yearwood.
The 19-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Roots Hall, struggled to hit top form last season.
But he still attracted the attention of the Millers who tabled an initial £200,000 offer with a number of additional add ons.
However, Blues opted to reject the bid and remain determined to keep hold of Yearwood.
The youngster enjoyed an impressive first season with the Shrimpers and was called up for England under 18s before having to drop out of the squad with a hamstring problem.
That injury saw Yearwood miss the start of last season and he found it tough going to recapture his best form.
Yearwood is contracted to Blues until 2021 and has made 62 appearances for the club.
Rotherham are back in League One next season after being relegated from the Championship.
