JOE Sexton insists there is no room for complacency when his Leigh side go up against Woodford Green in a Division Three clash tomorrow.

Leigh moved to the top of the standings thanks to their seven-run win over Harlow last time out.

But Sexton maintains Leigh will not expect a comfortable afternoon against the division’s bottom side.

The Leigh captain said: “We seem to be in some good form, but there is still a lot to improve on and get right.

“We won’t be taking the game lightly against Woodford Green as that leads to complacency.

“Anyone in this league has the ability to beat any team so we will be going into this fixture focused on the task at hand.”

Leigh replaced Westcliff at the Division Three summit last week.

And Westcliff, who now find themselves in second spot and eight points adrift of the table-toppers, will welcome Stanford-le-Hope to Chalkwell Park tomorrow.

The visitors are in wretched form, having lost in each of their last five outings, but they started the season in positive fashion.

Although Westcliff captain Peter Barnes is looking to return to winning ways following the 86-run defeat to Ardleigh Green & Havering-Atte-Bower, he knows Stanford will not be easy to beat.

Barnes said: “There are still seven sides in the mix for promotion.

“They all have a chance of going up, so every game is going to be tough.

“We have been working hard in training this week and we’re looking to bounce back at the first attempt with a win tomorrow.”
