COREY Jordan could join Southend United on loan from Bournemouth if he impresses with the Shrimpers in pre-season.
Blues boss Kevin Bond has maintained a close relationship with Cherries manager Eddie Howe since his own spell on the south-coast.
And that has led to Jordan - a 20-year-old centre-back - spending pre-season with Southend.
“Due to my relationship with Bournemouth and Eddie, they will help us where they can,” said Bond.
“We need a centre half or two so we’re having a look at him and seeing how he does.
"They think a lot of him and he’s done well for us but there’s nothing like seeing him on a matchday.
"That’s the key but there could potentially be a loan deal there if he does OK.”
Jordan spent time on loan at Eastbourne Borough in National League South last season and scored Blues' first goal in their 3-2 win at Billericay Town on Tuesday night.
