BILLERICAY Town boss Harry Wheeler is relishing tonight’s trip to Hendon.

Town will be competing in their fourth friendly of the summer ahead of a second consecutive campaign in the National League South.

And Wheeler believes a clash with the Southern League Premier Division South outfit will be ideal for his players.

Wheeler said: “It will be another tough test, which is nice for us.

“Hendon are a good team who work hard.

“I know the manager (James Gray) well so they’ll be an honest bunch.

“They won’t make it easy, so we’ve just got to go there and push on.

“We need to be as professional as we possibly can, like we were at Grays, in order to get a result.”

Billericay’s last outing came against Grays Athletic six days ago.

Town ran riot, winning 7-2 at Parkside.

The encounter also allowed Wheeler to have a look at some trialists and he admits their performance levels have made his job difficult.

“I thought every trialist did well against Grays,” added the Billericay chief.

“They’re making our job difficult because, a lot of the time, trialists come in and then quickly move on but our trialists have been hanging around because they deserve to hang around.

“If they keep playing how they have been, it will make it very difficult for me to let them go.

“I want them to keep doing what they’re doing and all four of the trialists against Grays did really well.”
