SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Bond has wished Dru Yearwood well following the midfielder's switch to Brentford.
Yearwood joined the Championship club in a deal believed to be worth £500,000 earlier this week.
And Bond believes joining Bees is a 'great opportunity' for the 19-year-old.
"It was a good deal for Brentford and I think it’s a deal that possibly Southend are always going to take," said Bond.
"It’s a great opportunity for Dru and for him to get where he wants to go and where everyone would like him to be too.
"He’s a good lad and I found him to be a great personality in my time here.
"He’s a terrific, smiley faced kid and I wish him well."
Yearwood - who made 61 appearances for Blues - could make his Brentford debut against Middlesbrough this weekend.
