JOHN Coventry wants East Thurrock United to make Rookery Hill a fortress.

Rocks, who have won both of their first two matches of the Isthmian Premier League season, will entertain Potters Bar Town tomorrow.

But Coventry insists East Thurrock cannot take three points for granted.

Coventry said: “I watched Potters Bar at Cheshunt in midweek, so I know a bit more about them now.

“They are a decent side but the key is that we know we can’t take anybody lightly.

“Just because we have won our opening two games, we can’t think that we are definitely going to make it three wins in a row.

“I would love for us to make Rookery Hill a fortress, not just because it will help us in the league but it will also improve our support.

“Supporters want to see you win games and that, unfortunately, didn’t happen enough last season.

“Winning games will result in more fans coming through the gate.”
