CANVEY Island are seeking a third consecutive victory when they make the trip to Stotfold tomorrow.

The Gulls have made a 100 per cent winning start to the Isthmian North campaign after recording comeback victories over Romford and Grays Athletic.

Canvey will turn their attentions towards the preliminary round of the FA Cup this weekend and boss Mark Bentley is relishing the clash with Spartan South Midlands League Division One side Stotfold.

“It will be a difficult game, like every game is in the FA Cup,” said Bentley.

“They beat Harpenden Town in the last round, who I think are a league above them and they have quite a good budget as well so it was a little bit of a shock.

“We’ll prepare for the game exactly the same as we have been for any other game.

“I’ll expect the same attitude and we want to kick on because we’re trying to build momentum and get that winning mentality.

“We’re getting wins at the moment and we’ve got to make sure we don’t take our foot off the gas because the FA Cup will bring in good money for the club as well.”
