BILLERICAY Town and Concord Rangers were condemned to National League South defeats on the road.

Harry Wheeler’s Billericay suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of high-flyers Hemel Hempstead Town thanks to a trio of late goals.

A close range effort from former Concord Rangers winger Liam Nash was followed up by an Ricardo German brace to ensure Town would leave Vauxhall Road empty-handed.

Billericay were frustrated to see two first half penalty appeals waved away.

Jordan Parkes - on his return to Hemel following a summer switch to Billericay - appeared to be pushed over while attempting to put in a cross and Ben Nunn was brought down soon after, but the appeals fell on deaf ears.

Matt Rhead came close to making the breakthrough as, six minutes before the break, the striker’s header was cleared off the goal-line.

Ex-Concord goalkeeper Sam Beasant tipped over a Rhead effort shortly after the interval and the custodian was also on hand to keep Parkes at bay.

The saves proved crucial as Hemel went onto capitalise.

With just eight minutes remaining, the deadlock was broken as Sam Ashford’s effort was pushed away by Billericay goalkeeper Alan Julian and Nash was on hand to tap home the rebound from just three yards out.

German doubled the home side’s advantage by slotting into the bottom corner.

And German completed his brace and the scoring in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Concord went down 2-1 at St Albans City.

Brett McGavin’s late goal was not enough as Joe Iaciofano and Darren Foxley efforts ensured St Albans would record their first win of the campaign.

Bobson Bawling saw a seventh minute strike cannon off the post and Concord responded with Decarrey Sheriff being denied by St Albans goalkeeper Dean Snedker twice in quick succession.

The hosts took a 15th minute lead as Iaciofano found the back of the net after originally being kept out by Beach Boys custodian Chris Haigh.

Joel Nouble saw a second half strike tipped onto the post by Snedker as Concord went in search of a leveller.

Foxley added his name to the scoresheet with a curling effort and, although McGavin halved the deficit with a long range drive, it proved to be the winner.
