BILLERICAY Town and Basildon United are set to do battle in an exciting FA Cup second preliminary round tie.

The draw for the next round of the competition was made at Wembley Stadium this afternoon.

And, having progressed thanks to a fine 2-1 win over Isthmian North rivals Coggeshall Town, Basildon have been rewarded with a trip to neighbours Billericay for a local derby.

The encounter will see National League South side Billericay boasting home advantage, with it scheduled to take place at the Steel Team Stadium.

Like Billericay, Concord Rangers come into the competition at this stage.

And the Beach Boys have been handed a tricky looking tie as they will make the journey to Isthmian Premier League outfit Margate.

Margate booked their place in the second preliminary round by overcoming Horsham YMCA thanks to a last-gasp winner.

Bowers & Pitsea, who came from behind to beat Brentwood Town, will be on the road for the first time in the FA Cup this term.

Rob Small’s side will face the winners of the tie involving Leatherhead and Lewes.

Should East Thurrock United emerge victorious in their first qualifying round replay tomorrow, they will visit Bishop’s Stortford.

Bishop’s Stortford edged an eight-goal thriller at Dunstable Town last time out.

Like East Thurrock, Canvey are involved in a replay after drawing 2-2 with Waltham Abbey.

Mark Bentley’s Gulls have been handed a potential trip to St Ives Town.

The second qualifying round ties will take place over the weekend of September 20-22.

Winning clubs will receive £6,750 from the FA prize fund while losing clubs are set to collect £2,250.
