ADAM Barrett is still in the running to be Southend United’s next manager.
The popular former Shrimpers defender is currently first team coach at Championship club Millwall.
But, despite Blues chairman Ron Martin having flown to Sweden for talks with Henrik Larsson’s potential backroom team, Barrett is still among those being considered as Kevin Bond’s replacement.
Barrett, who made 354 appearances for the Shrimpers in his playing career, also grew up supporting his hometown club.
It is believed another Blues legend, Steve Tilson, would be part of Barrett’s backroom team if he got the job.
An Echosport poll also revealed 83 per cent of fans would prefer Barrett to Larsson.
