SOUTHEND United are still waiting to appoint a new manager - five weeks after the departure of Kevin Bond.
Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin had been expected to make a decision at the start of the week but Gary Waddock remains as caretaker boss.
And, writing on Twitter, Blues legend Spencer Prior joked the ongoing Brexit discussions may be sorted quicker than the managerial situation at Roots Hall.
Prior said: “I think Brexit will be resolved quicker than Southend making a decision on who will be the new manager!”
Henrik Larsson, Adam Barrett and Sol Campbell remain in the running for the job.
